Lying Down Diaphragmatic Breathing Position

Step 1

 According to the Clevland Clinic, diaphragmatic breathing helps to reduce anxiety and stress.  Consistent use of this practice can make you feel less anxious, stressed and, overwhelmed.  


Using the diaphragmatic breathing technique with the Box Breathing method below will yield the best results. 


Choose which diaphragmatic breathing technique works best for you. Some prefer lying down breathing while others prefer the sitting position. Watch the attached videos to choose which method works best for you.

Step 2

After you have chosen the diaphragmatic breathing method you prefer, use it while performing the Box Breathing technique.


 Box breathing is used by the United States Navy Seals .  Navy Seals are often subjected to highly stressful situations.  The box breathing technique works to quickly to reduce stress and anxiety.


 Don't forget to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth in this exercise.
